A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out
Brother Michael suggested that by owning a dump truck he would be able to generate an income for Church of God Philadelphia’s ministries. In Haiti most roads and buildings are made from cement/cement blocks. Hauling sand and gravel can provide a steady income for a truck owner. Brother Michael had a particular one in mind, a MACK diesel 10-yard dump truck. A truck making 3 - 4 runs a day could provide an income for a driver (giving someone a job) and help provide a much-needed income for the ministry. UPDATE; l’Estere Church Story
To date, Hands on Haiti has received $3000 in donations designated for repair of the l’Estere Church damaged by last year’s hurricanes. Pastor Dijuste has wired part of the funds to the church’s pastor. He reports that materials have been purchased, delivered to the church site and repairs have begun. More materials will be purchased in stages as reconstruction progresses. A special Thank You goes to all of you who have answered the prayers of these faithful people. You have given them more than a repaired church building. You have given them a ray of Hope in a seemingly impossible situation.
