Q: What is the future plan of the Hands on Haiti mission?

A: Hands on Haiti will continue working diligently to assist Pastor Dijuste to help meet the needs of the children at the orphanage and families of the school. In the short term, funds are needed for Pastor Dijuste to help care for the children. The most urgent need now is for food, water and shelter for the children under our care in Haiti! Financial gifts to Hands on Haiti are destined to meet both the short-term and long-term needs.

Q: Are children from the orphanage eligible for adoption or foster care?

Since all of the records at the orphanage are now under the rubble, along with everything else, and the government buildings in Port-au-Prince are virtually gone, it is difficult to say what can happen or if any can be adopted. Many of the boys do have living relatives, some do not. It is uncertain how things might change in the next few weeks.

Q: Can you donate clothing, shoes or other items to the boys and other children who attended the school?

A: If you donated items in the past, we thank you for giving generously in this way. Please pray for emergency shelter and healing. The ability to ship, store and secure any donated items is very uncertain. We do have some items in storage that we cannot ship. We will send updates about this special need for donated items soon.
